INTRODUCTION

You’ve written a book—now what?  You have spent months, maybe even years, getting the right wording, having it edited and re-edited.  You hired a graphic artist to design this fantastic cover, which by the way is full color.  You have racked up thousands of dollars in printing  costs.  You now have a room full of books .  How do you get them from your living room to the hands of the consumer?

The decision to self-publish a book is a big one, but it does not have to be a bad one.  In fact it can be very rewarding, both emotionally and financially.  However, it requires some planning, commitment, and know-how.  The planning and commitment come from you, but the know-how is spelled out in this handbook.  I am sharing with you information that helped me sell over 40,000 copies of my very first self-published book.

Regardless to who publishes a book there is only one person who can really sell it and that is the author .  Yes, you are the best person to sell your book.  Large publishers  have thousands of titles and will only spend dollars to promote the top 20% of those titles.
