How To Make Good Choices

Every day we are faced with the difficult task of choosing what we are going to do or not do for that day.  If we make the wrong choice we suffer.  If we are fortunate enough to make the right choices we gain.  Making wrong choices on a short-term basis doesn’t necessarily hurt us"

The choices we make in life determine our life.  So it is important that we make good choices.  In fact we need to examine the choices we are making in all areas of our life.  If you are unhappy with any area of your life examine the choices you have make in that area thus far.

How do we increase our ability to make good sound choices on a daily basis?

1.      Know the Results You Want.   No one wants a bad life.  We just fail to
plan for a good one. Achieving your goals, both lifetime and immediate, requires that you make good choices.

2.      Get Good Information and Feedback. Make sure you are making decisions based on good sound information.  Seek advice only from those qualified to provide it.

3.      Do Not Rush Blindly Into Situations or Circumstances.  Get as much out front information as possible.  Evaluate the information and risks involved.  Ask yourself what you might gain or lose by making this decision.

4.      Stop to Think How It’s Going To affect You After You Do It.
Determine how the decision might affect your long-term personal and professional goals.  Will this decision help of hurt?  Is it good for you?

5.      Use the Lessons You Learn To Make Better Choices.
Develop confidence in your ability to deal with the results and learn from the experience. If you made a bad decision, use that experience to make better decisions in the future.
